Michael Cecchini - Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership

Possessing an extensive law enforcement background, Michael Cecchini most recently served as police chief and public safety director with Bay City, Michigan. In coordination with public and private entities, he established a new department that improved safety through community-based policing programs. Securing state and federal grants totaling $2 million, Michael Cecchini upgraded a records management system to incorporate paperless reports. He coordinated the efforts of fire, emergency medical services, and law enforcement in ways that reduced operating expenses significantly, leading to a more efficient and cost-effective department.

Mr. Cecchini held a variety of leadership roles with the Phoenix Police Department from 1986 to 2006. In his final position as lieutenant with the South Mountain Precinct, he commanded specialty teams that spanned community program, walking beat, and neighborhood enforcement squads. Managing a budget of $23 million, Mr. Cecchini led a team of 65 personnel, including civilian staff and uniformed and plain-clothed police officers.
